Sponsor Me - Meet Xiao Long

Xiao Long This little guy came to Hope's Haven from a Florida animal shelter. He appears to be a mix of Chinese Crested and Dachshund. His foster family named him Xiao Long (pronounced Sheeow Long) which means 'Little Dragon.' He reminded his foster mom of the pictures of Chinese Dragons with their long bodies and the mane around their faces.
Xiao Long's owner had passed away. A neighbor had taken him in, but did not want to keep him. So, the neighbor took Xiao Long to the local shelter. Unfortunately, his heartworm test came back positive. The shelter was going to euthanize Xiao Long if a rescue group could not take him in and have him treated. Xiao Long also had a very severe case of ear mites. His one ear was extremely swollen and he now has residual scar tissues and the ear no longer stands up.                 Xiao Long
Xiao Long Xiao Long has done well since coming to foster care with Hope's Haven. He had some behavior issues, but has been doing just great. He has not had any complications from his heartworm treatment. We are looking forward to being able to find him a wonderful home after he is found to be heartworm free.

Xiao Long appreciates any donations to help pay for his heartworm treatments and hopes you will look for him in the future on our adoptions page!

Remember - we are 501c3 non-profit, so all donations are tax-deductible.

Xiao Long sends his thanks!
