Tango is a precious five-year-old, 7lb hairy hairless boy in need of a special home.Tango has colitis and gastritis and he needs to be kept as stress-free as possible. While Tango likes other dogs, the dogs cannot be too aggressive in play or too large in size, or Tango will be stressed. A home without small children would be ideal for Tango.
Tango came from an environment where there had been some aggression problems among the dogs. He was also held at animal services for a time prior to coming to rescue. Most likely, the stress of these situations caused his colitis and gastritis. We have run blood tests and x-rays. There are no signs of tumors or polyps. When he is stressed, Tango can develop diarrhoea and vomiting. He is currently on home-cooked food, which helps with his sensitive stomach.
Tango also had some bad skin when he first came to rescue. He needs weekly baths and a topical ointment to help to keep his skin clear. He has had a few trips to the groomer, but he is a bit fearful of clippers, so we have been taking it very slowly so he will not be stressed. Like all hairless dogs, he needs a t-shirt or sunscreen when outside in the sun and a nice warm sweater on cold days.
Tango loves to sit on your lap and give you kisses. Although he does not like being clipped, he has been very well behaved at the groomer and the vet. He enjoys going for walks and will run around the house with tiny soft toys and play. He will also play with other dogs if they are not too rough. Tango is crate-trained and he is kept crated when people are not with him. He is a very gentle and quiet boy.
Tango is neutered and up-to-date on all of his vaccines. If you would like to provide Tango with the love and stability he needs in a forever home, please contact his foster family.
