Pepper’s nick name is Mr Peeps and he loves it! This teeny tiny bouncy little guy is a Toy Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless). He is neutered, UTD on all his vaccinations and heartworm negative. He is barely five pounds with a low grade (1) heart murmur and unrepairable broken jaw.Pepper is an extremely special little man in need of an exceptional forever home. Pepper has accumulated some medical expenses as he has been in foster care but we feel that Pepper deserves every chance to have a long and pain free life.
Pepper does not act his age - we still feel very strongly that he is much younger than the 8-10 year estimate the vet has given him. He is full of energy and wants to be with you wherever you are. He loves to snuggle under the covers and makes a lovely bed warmer. He is always happy to see you.
Pepper does have a typical Xolo personality. He is leery of strangers and is very sensitive so he needs a gentle but consistent hand. He is not potty-trained: he is a marker and he does not do well crated. His foster home has been working with him on all of these issues, but Pepper will need a home able to accept that he may have potty issues for the rest of his life.
Pepper has had more than his share of difficulties and it is time for him to be cared for and loved by a family that has the time and commitment he needs and deserves. He would do best in a home without small children. He also isn’t fond of other dogs, does not play or interact with them and quite frankly is looking for human companionship in a home where he does not have to compete for attention or lap time.
