UPDATEBackI just wanted to write and let you know how Porter was doing. He is doing as wonderfully as always! He is such a big part of our family now we can't imagine being without him. He is eating well. Still on Wellness and doing well with that. He certainly is a big beggar though. When we are eating dinner, he is always trying to make us feel sorry for him. He eventually just lies under the table at our feet. My husband always ends up talking to him and that is when he starts with his singing. Haha. He still sleeps with my son Erik (7 year old) and sometimes I sleep with them. Sometimes at night, or should I say the wee hours of the morning, Porter will get up and cry at my bedroom door. He just wants me to come and sleep with him and Erik. He gets so excited if I lay down with them. Other times I just take him back to bed and tell him night night and he just goes back to sleep. We laugh at night when he is up in bed with Erik and then Porter comes down the stairs half asleep, wagging his tail, and he checks out all the rooms downstairs to see where everyone is and what they are doing. I tell him "night night Porter" and he goes back up to bed.
He has been going for walks a lot with us now that the weather is better, and is doing better on a leash. He pulls at first still, because he is so excited, but then he settles down and walks fine. He has also been going jogging with me. He is such good company. We run about 3 miles. Porter starts off really fast and of course I have to keep up with him (because he is on a leash I have no choice). He slows down after a while and then we can stay at a more reasonable pace. This helps his nails too, because it still is a struggle to cut them. He does well during bath time. He doesn't like getting in the tub, but once I put him in he is real good for me and we can finish quickly. His ears are doing ok.Of course I have been cleaning them regularly. Can you guess which picture was after running with me?
UPDATE 2
Porter is still doing great! He is a lover. He has been home two days while I have been at work and he has done fine. He is a good boy when going potty. He doesn't make me wait, he goes right away when we go outside. I think that he just wants to get back in as soon as possible. Porter sleeps with my son and cuddles right up w/him. My 16 yr daughter has also been sleeping with them so she could cuddle as well. Waking him up in the morning on work days is funny. He lifts his head, then plops it right back down. Yesterday, he really started to play a lot with his toys with us. I can tell that he really wants to be a great dog! He always wants to sit his but on my lap. It is funny. He is a big sweet baby.
