Hope's Haven - Chino & Lita

Chino Chino Lita Lita
UPDATE 2 August 2004

In two days it will be one year! I can not imagine not having these precious babies in my life and heart. It seems like only yesterday they came to me and it also seems like they have been with me forever - only a 'dog person' could understand the deep connection we have and the honest love we share. Thank you again for letting me be the one to love my beautiful Blackberry Lita and the wonderful Bubbie Chino. While I will never understand how anyone could throw such loving babies away, I feel blessed that I was allowed to bring them into my home. I love them so much that sometimes I look at them and tears come to my eyes just thinking how they must have been treated before, and I have to take them in my arms and kiss them till they squirm.

Chino's latest interest is digging in the flower garden for a chipmunk. He fully expects to catch it even though it has been several days of serious efforts, to no avail. He digs awhile - comes in to check on me - am I eating anything? Back to dig - back to check - this goes on till I make him come in and get hugs and a snack. Lita just sits and watches him. I can almost hear her laughing. I think she is the smarter of the two, but when he looks at me like I am God and he does this all the time, who cares how smart he is?

Blackberry Lita and Bubba Chino Sharpe say:
"We are all doing great here in our forever home and our mom loves us so much. We love her back too. The weather is getting better and she can leave the door open and we run and run. The old ones get in their dog bed and watch us tear through the dining room, sliding full circle and back out of the door. They are careful to stay out of the way as they know our brakes are not too good".
