Hope's Haven - Timmie (now Tieng Lee)

Timmie Timmie Timmie Timmie
Timmie has been adopted (26 April, 2007)!

UPDATE (28 April, 2007)

Tieng Lee is so loving. This morning when I woke up he greeted me with a hundred kisses by the minute. He is getting very close to me, in fact, yesterday I went to the garden to cut some flowers (gardenias) for my sister to take home and he stayed inside with my sister. When I went outside, he thought I was leaving and started to cry - I already love him, he is simply adorable.

He ate well last night and this morning, so I think the adjustment period is going well. He plays with Hon Chi and sleeps on my bed. He is fine!

He has not messed inside (as we were afraid he would do). He is just perfect!

Next weekend if I can, I will take him to the vet, so he can give him a complete checkup. Regardless, I think he is happy here - he is improving by the hour and adjusting very, very well. He already understands a couple of commands in Spanish - a bilingual dog!

UPDATE (6 May, 2007)

It's been a bit more than a week and I already made myself at home. I have made a lot of progress in the past few days. My mom does not have to carry me to the backyard any more when it's time to go outside. She calls me and I go out willingly. I also come back in when she calls me again (but she is always there watching us).

I love my mom - she is great and she is spoiling me like you'd never believe. She is beginning to think I am out-witting her. I adore my brother. We are great pals. Wherever you find me, you will find Hon Chi too. If one is sleeping on the sofa, the other one is right next to him. If one goes to the kitchen, the other one goes too. If one is on the bed, the other one is too. It's like we are joined at the hip.

We play constantly. I finally decided to dig up some toys from the toy box and give it a try. My mother was so happy to see me! She bought us two new identical sets on Saturday. The cutest little outfits you can imagine. Well, actually mine is little. Hon Chi's is sort of large. Mom gave us a bath yesterday. I behaved really nicely. Afterwards, she dressed us up in one of the two outfits she had bought last week. They are bright blue, with a ball and a bat on the back and a sign that reads Alpha Dog. We have not decided who is the Alpha dog in this house so, for now, we are both Alpha.

We look so cute like twins. Did you guys see that movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito where they were twins? That's exactly how we look. As a prize for being good boys, she gave us two brand new toys. One is a Chef-Piggy and the other one is a Lady Duck. Really pretty!

This morning we raced each other in the backyard. Boy - did we have fun!

I've put on some weight. Probably a couple of ounces, but it shows. My rib cage is a bit more meaty and the two little pointy bones in my hips are less noticeable. My mom is very happy with that.

Well, I thought I would drop you a note and give you an update. I am happy so you don't have to worry about me. My mom adores my personality, although she thinks there is still a lot she has not learned about me. I surprise her every day, but she thinks that is great too!
