Schmoo had been adopted (August, 2008)!UPDATE (9 August, 2008)
Schmoo was picked up by his new mom and dad and is now safe and sound with them. I've already talked to them twice since he left and he seems to be doing very well. His separation anxiety seems to have returned some, but they'll work with him and as soon as he can trust that they are always coming back, I know he'll be just fine. He hasn't been marking at their house at all, which is good to hear. I thought he probably would again for a while. It seems that Schmoo may end up being the alpha dog in their house - their current alpha is pretty ancient and seems to be allowing Schmoo to rule the roost. Here it worked out well for Schmoo to be towards the middle of the pack structure, because it kept some of his bossiness in check, but I've warned them about this and they are making sure to assert themselves as the true leaders.
