Puffy was adopted on or around April 21 2005.BackPuffy is doing great! She has settled in nicely and she and new dad are in bed just snoozing away! Her flight was 15 minutes late coming in, we were able to get her at 7:30 and she didn't appear upset or nervous. We took her home and let her out in the yard, she just ran and ran and smelled everything. We let her meet the other two dogs and at first she was afraid of them, but within an hour they were all playing and following us around as we watered flowers.
She sees a lot of new things here - I have the equivalent of a bird sanctuary in my backyard. I have feeders and bird baths scattered about and I think Puffy was a little overwhelmed with all the wild birds coming in to feed. The birds are so used to me being out there, they actually will allow me to come just inches away and the mourning doves will actually eat from my hand at times. My neighbours are in awe of it! The birds are not afraid of the dogs, so they will not fly away when the dogs approach them and I think Puffy found this very strange - it was funny. She ate dinner and I had to feed it to her by hand as she wasn't eating from the bowl, but I wanted to make sure she got some before bed.
She is so beautiful we just absolutely love her. I want to thank you again for all you have done and oh yes, we did change Puffy's name. She is now known as CoCo-Chanel or Coco for short (Coco is short for Coconut, the little white dog that is part of the American Girls Doll collection and Chanel, one of my favorite perfumes). So she has a new life and a new name!
