Hope's Haven - Lucy

Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy

Lucy has been adopted (November, 2007)!

UPDATE (15 November, 2007)

Lucy is a good traveller. She cried a bit in the kennel, then burrowed into her blanket. Once we were on the ferry I let her onto my lap and she just snuggled in. I know she's wondering where she is and who are these boys that live here and why are they are barking at her. She's claimed my chair already and is warning BJ to stay out of her face. Shadow got up there and she wasn't too sure about him, but he didn't hassle her and got back down.

She did go potty outside already (yay). Her eye is still squinty, but I'll keep a close watch on it.

The yorkie boys are jealous of her and not sure what to think. As soon as I tried to get them all herded together for a picture, Lucy took off and so did they (little stinkers). She's fitting right in, burrowing into the afghan, snuggling, enjoying being petted, tail wagging. So far no submissive peeing! She's a pretty amazing little girl. For the time being she's staying up in my chair - it also gives her a break as the two youngest yorkies can't jump up there.

I'll be watching her right eye closely. She has an appointment with the vet this coming Tuesday, so he can check the eye out too.

Lucy is so funny. I had the treats for her in my bag - she found them. Then I put them up on the table where she can't get them. Right now she's on the arm of my chair staring at the table and the little white bag.

My mom thinks I'm nuts for adopting another dog - I called to tell her she has another granddogger - I wonder what she'll think of Lucy?

UPDATE (19 November, 2007)

Here's Lucy today on Shadow's big snuggle bed. I had to stand there holding a treat so she would look at the camera. I guess I can't blame her for not wanting someone flashing something in her eyes.

She's an excellent little girl! She's better behaved than the two younger Yorkies. Can you believe she actually asked to go outside today for a few minutes? She sniffed around and then wanted back in. She's been using the pee pad so she doesn't have to go out, so we praise her a lot for that. So far she's been doing the solid business outside too. We can't believe someone gave this little doll up, but we're glad we have her. Thank you for guiding us through the adoption process.

She doesn't really interact with the other three that much until feeding time. We have cuddle time in the recliner with Lucy in the blanket, Sparky beside me and Shadow on the arm of the chair. She has just slid right into the routine here.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and we are thankful for this little sweetheart.
