Johnny Cash has been adopted (27 March, 2007)!
It only took about five minutes of exploring
before the mighty hunter found
a Booda Bear hiding in the spare bedroom.This belonged to Jennifer’s Greyhound before she passed away. Moments later you couldn’t tell by the ugly aftermath where the sofa started and the bear ended.
It was about this time that Steve arrived home with dinner. After all that killing Cash was starving ...
UPDATE (23 March, 2007)Cash is lying here on the couch beside me right now being much more of a couch potato than I ever expected him to be! We went for a walk this morning before work and then to the dog park before dinner and he's been doing just great. We're keeping our eyes on him but he's sticking pretty close right now so he's making this part easy. He's eating, drinking, peeing and pooping well - all good signs. He's wined a little bit - I think he misses his foster mom and his doggie friends. We're keeping our fingers crossed and working on our alpha skills to ensure that all continues going well.
UPDATE (25 March, 2007)
We are keeping our guard up - he's tried chewing on pillows and blankets but that's really it so far. He stops when told to but I'm pretty sure I know what would happen if he was left him in a room alone with the pillow he keeps eyeing!
I actually snuck Cash in to work yesterday morning to meet one of my staff and couldn't resist taking him into to see some of my patients - he was awesome! Calm in his approach and sat tolerantly for affection. He will be an excellent therapy dog!
