Elmo has been adopted!UPDATE (24 September, 2008)
Elmo and his new family just stopped by the pet spa to visit and he's doing just great! He was wagging his tail non-stop and the whole family is still in a love fest with him! That made our weekend!
So, just a quick update that Elmo and his forever family are doing great and it was terrific being able to spend a little time with him.
UPDATE (24 October, 2008)
Elmo has become quite sociable. He goes almost everywhere with us. I took him on our first road trip to Florida this past weekend to see my friend. She has two little guys and Elmo was quite the gentleman all weekend. He was a great companion in the car. It was the first time I had used the crate for more than an hour with him and he was wonderful. Even being around two new buddies - he has no aggression at all in his behaviour. Larry and I are continually amazed how mature and well behaved he is.
We have Suzi this week and the two of them are so fun to watch. They play and romp. There is a bit of jealousy but not mean spirted. With Suzi's long hair and the rain we had have been constant maintenance. I'm exhausted! I'm so glad that we have seen Elmo with short hair - now I'll have no concern about a shortie cut for the summer.
Elmo still has minimal interest in food. He has plenty of energy but I'd like to see him put on about a pound. It seems he is a night grazer. He sleeps with us but when I get up with Elmo in the morning and take him out - his food bowl is clean. I wonder what else he is doing at night while mom and dad are asleep.
