UPDATE (20 February, 2006)We came home and the boys were very nice to Dyna until she got up on the couch. Then they growled at each other for a few seconds and I sat with them and introduced them, so to speak and told them all to behave. It was a miracle I think they all understood. At bedtime we all went to bed. Dyna was at Cat's feet and Raul at mine and of course, Webster up on his pillow by my head. In the morning I had Dyna at my feet, Raul on my thigh and Webster by my neck. No growling, no disputes, nothing. We went out for a walk and all was well.
Today has also been a great day. They are getting along without one episode of growling at all. I came into my office to go on line and each one of them were in one bed as I had told you I had three dog beds in my office. I went to take a nap with all of them and they were perfect. I got up fed them dinner and now they are on the couch with Cathy, except for Raul, who is my shadow. Today Cat went out to the store and I stayed home. When she left Dyna started crying and howling she was so cute. I went to her and she stopped and followed me immediately and settled down. She is just the perfect little girl. Oh her brothers have already taught her how to bark at the doorbell. We are having a wonderful time with her, again she is just all of that! Oh and I forgot to mention Dyna's sister the Quaker Parrot loves Dyna too. Dyna has been very good and does not even bother with her.
PS Dyna told me to tell you she loves you and misses you but she does like the warmer weather down here, all her new clothes and her new brothers and sister. She hopes you come to visit her soon!
UPDATE (2 March, 2006)
Dyna has been excellent, she is so prissy. She is great on the leash and loves to go out back when we go out but she is the first one in. I think she feels loved and very at home here. The boys are coming around. They have not had one growling match. Dyna is so smart. She has not had one accident. She is so funny when she plays She has a stuffed animal and she plays with it and then starts sneezing. When she sits she holds one paw up or if she lays down she crosses her front paws. She is friendly with all of my family and they love her. They all have been coming around to see her separately. Oh boy I can't wait until I have my next family gathering; she is going to have a blast. She is eating well and already knows where the treats are.
I have done some research and I found out that some of the good breeders use Aveeno bath and lotion on their hairless Cresteds. So I decided to use that and her skin is still beautiful. I apply the lotion every two to three days and bathe her every week. I had a gut feeling that she was meant to be mine and we are so happy to have her. I just love her so much. She also does well when I have to go out for a few hours. Oh this is funny, I have a Bakers rack in my dining room which is close to the front door, on the bottom rack I have all my placemats. Well Dyna thinks that is her personal bed and I think that is where she sleeps and waits for me to come home. I know it because I have been working on some files in the dining area and when I looked she was sleeping there. She is too funny. I guess I have to move and wash the placemats and put something there to make her cozy.
UPDATE (9 April, 2006)
Plumita is doing great, I can see that she is calming down more and feeling at home. I used to pick her up like a baby before and she was very apprehensive. Now she is like a wet noodle. LOL. She has gotten very attached to me since I am home more but she loves when Cat comes home in the evening and plays with her. She loves toys and is so funny when she plays. I am so in love with her. She is so well behaved. If I could I would take her everywhere with me but since I have the other two I can't do it because they would become very jealous and heartbroken. It is very hard for me to leave her home even when I just go to the supermarket. I thank all of you for allowing us to adopt her - I think I will never have another breed besides Hairless Crested again.
UPDATE (18 October, 2007)
Well what can I tell you about Plumita that I have not told you already! She is still the princess in every way! She loves her clothes. Below she is in her bathing suit and in the other she is in her night gown. The family is completely bonded but Plumita and I have a very special bond, I just can not explain it. She is so intelligent and understands a lot of what I am saying to her and she knows exactly how to get my attention and to tell me what she wants.
Since her adoption she has gained about half a pound. If I would let her she would probably have gained five pounds but I watch all of my babies' diet - I only wish I was so disciplined for myself . I continue to use the Wellness food now for all of them. Plumita's skin is very good and her hair has grown a lot especially on her paws, I use aveeno soap and aveeno lotion only. She has no reaction to it at all. On the beach I use the aveeno sunscreen. I wish I can adopt another little girl from you but right now three is enough, plus I still have the Quaker parrot Calle and a 55 gallon fish tank. Raul (black dog) is 10, Webster (red dog) is 7 years and Plumita is now 5. I love them all and hope they last me a very long time. Enjoy the pictures and thanks again for allowing us to adopt this treasure. We all love her.
