Hope's Haven - Dobbie

Dobbie Dobbie Dobbie Dobbie

Dobbie has been adopted!

UPDATE (1 November, 2006)

I just wanted to let you know Dobbie made it safely to Savannah. He has been at the house with us for about five hours and he is warming up by the minute. He is doing so well and I am really pleased with his mild temper. I know you said he is a barker but so far he has not made a sound.

I can already say I am a Chinese Crested lover, Dobbie is such a sweetheart. He is even letting the kids get close to him; the kids are doing well and not running up to him but letting Dobbie approach them instead.

UPDATE (3 January, 2007)

Dobbie is doing great! I took him to the groomers last week and he received the royal treatment. They also pointed me in the direction of some lotion to help with his bumps - it is working wonders. I purchased it from the vet and they approved it for the Chinese Crested.

It does appear that he has lost about 4-5 pounds. He is thinning out slowly but surely. I am feeding him an all-natural product which he has adjusted to just fine. My boys have been great about helping with his diet - it is so funny to hear my four-year-old say that Dobbie is on a diet and can only have carrots for a snack.

He is still warming up to my boys; it is taking him a little longer with my oldest but only because my oldest spends a lot of time doing other things. With time I think they will get closer but even how they are now with each other is not a problem - Dobbie just barks at him.

I think having the Jack Russell is doing Dobbie some good too, because they play by chasing each other around the house. After they tire out, the two of them curl up next to each other and nap.

My mom has also fallen in love with him and he goes with me often to visit her. He loves the attention!

We are blessed to have him and he is a wonderful pet. I really believe he likes it here and we just love him.
