Atticus has been adopted (25 July, 2006)!UPDATE (25 July, 2006)
Atticus is a great car rider. He looked out of windows, slept and licked my hand all the way back. He has been introduced to his new doggie family and all is well. He is quite intrigued by his new yard and is thoroughly investigating it (possibly to plan a future 'dig-out'). He seems to like his crate and has gone in and out of it several times (I twisty-tied the door open). Just wanted you to know that all is going well

Atticus has slept with everyone and played with everyone. I will take a picture of him and Mary Katherine sleeping together -it is priceless! He has not started digging, overeating, nor has he beaten up any stuffed animals. As much as he looks relaxed, adjusted and 'at home', I figure that he must still be on his best behaviour and he will truly be 'home' when he lets his other side show.
He loves his yard. I was up at 12:10 last night and then again at 4:00 with the kitten, so everyone went outside at those times. Atticus trooped out and presumably, did his business without missing a step.
I love his ears! Especially when he lifts them up to the sides - like an aeroplane!
UPDATE (31 July, 2006)
Just thought I would shoot off a quick email to let you know Atticus is doing great. He has not been digging, nor has he been beating up stuffed animals. But, he may be entering a new stage of his life - he drags a (small) blanket around with him! It is a 'goosebumps' kid quilt/blanket and apparently he loves it! He won't share. None of the other guys can lie on it; he moves it all through the house. (I really should wrestle it away from him soon and throw it in the wash!)
It has been too hot to spend much time outside, but he goes in and out with the others right on schedule. I know that he has moved around quite a bit, so I wonder if he realizes this is his final destination. He seems very content and 'all moved in' (blanket and all).
